The most important difference between Crying Coyote Farm and other horse sale representatives is that we own all of the horses that we offer for sale.
Most horse marketers represent horses that they do not own. The horses are being represented for sale on a consignment basis. Many of the sales representatives have never even sat on the horses that they are promoting or have very little first-hand knowledge of the horses. Their goal is usually to “flip” a horse as soon as they can while investing as little money, care and time in them as possible. Most are paid on commission so the faster the sale the better.
At Crying Coyote Farm, we believe that stewardship to the equine means that we invest in them to ensure their futures. We commit to purchasing our horses and to investing the training and time that it will take to give them safe and productive futures. Most horses are in our program 2-4 months before they are ever even offered for sale and many will stay in training for 12-24 months (depending up their needs). We not only handle and train our horses daily but we also compete with them. They travel to shows, get in the ring and learn (and we learn about them). In addition, we breed and raise top quality Warmbloods that we prepare for National and International careers.
As a result of our investment in each horse, we know them and love them. Their welfare is always in the forefront for us and guides our care and decisions regarding their futures. We know a lot about all of our horses and are happy to share that information with you so as to find a proper match of horse and rider.
