"When I was 29 years old, I suffered a severe injury to my left arm that left me with partial paralysis and absolutely no feeling. While it was not a life-threatening injury, it was life-changing. Relearning to do everything with just one hand took time and riding a horse brought its own unique challenges. Because of my experiences and those experienced by several friends, we are more than happy to help others continue to ride despite such obstacles.
We are not however "Therapeutic Riding Instructors" and encourage those with significant challenges to contact a certified therapeutic riding instructor.
If like me, you have some dings and dents from the hard ride we call "life", don't hesitate to let us know. Yeah, I still lose my reins because of my bad hand but over the years I've developed strong legs and just make sure my horses know "whoa!". Megan O'Brien will do her best to accomodate your needs and build a lesson plan to maximize your abilities too. I look forward to riding with you!"
